Submissions

So you want to help us fill up the magazine with your awesome and jaw-dropping articles? Not a problem! Whether you are as young as 8, or a 16 year old, the History Magazine crew will always welcome works of yours!

Read the guidelines we've written down below before you send in your work, though. But don't worry, the guidelines are easy and it's nothing that you can't follow!

ARTICLE SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

• Your article must be family friendly and suitable for children as young as 8 years old.
• No vulgar language, inappropriate content and the like.
• Your article must be at least a page long, but less than 3 pages.
• Including pictures in your article is entirely up to you. However, if they are copyrighted material, do include where you got your material from, so that we can add it to the 'Contributions Page'.
• After writing your article, make sure that you write down where you got your information from, because that could be copyrighted material as well.
• Your article(s) must be easy-to-understand.

Writing tip: Don't forget to read through your work and revise before you send it in! Reading through your work always helps you bring out the best in your writing.

YOUR HISTORY COLUMN SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Submit a quarter of a page long article about:

What Did You Learn in History Today? - write about what you learned in history. Feel free to add in any opinions of your own!
What Did You Do for History Today? - what did you do for history today? Take a picture of your work, whether it's a drawing or a model of something, and write a little about what you did before sending it in to us!

SHORT STORIES: BASED ON TRUE HISTORY SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • As usual, follow the 'ARTICLE SUBMISSION GUIDELINES' above.
  • Your short story must be according to the theme.
  • Your short story has to be more than 1 page, but less than 5 pages.
  • After you're done writing, read through your story and revise - that's the best way to clear your work of any errors! However, our editor will correct any mistakes in your article before posting it up onto the magazine.
  • The event(s) that happens in your story has to be true, and at least one of your characters has to be real.

(PLEASE FOLLOW THE ARTICLE SUBMISSION GUIDELINES ABOVE)

Note: For all article submissions, don't forget to state your name and age in the "Questions/Comments" box in the form. Parents are also welcome to submit in any articles (except for "Your History Column"), as long as they write and say that they are parents.
